Kant's question is whether the mind can know anything about the world that it did not put there itself. His answer reorganised philosophy: space, time and causation are not features of reality that we discover, they are the conditions under which experience is possible at all.

From that he argues that metaphysics can never reach the thing-in-itself, dismantles the traditional proofs of God's existence, and shows that reason contradicts itself whenever it tries to settle questions beyond experience. It is one of the hardest books in the canon and one of the few genuinely worth the effort.
